New Song Album DVD Releases May 10 2024

Welcome to your New Music Friday round-up, here to serve you the biggest music and home entertainment releases of the week.

Let’s get straight into singles.

Eurovision 2023 winner Loreen unleashes her brand-new track Forever this week. Co-written by Loreen alongside Boy Matthews (Teddy Swims, ZAYN) and produced by Billen Ted (RAYE, Zara Larsson) and Zhone (Troye Sivan), Forever is a rousing rave anthem in the vein of winning Eurovision 2012 anthem Euphoria

With Loreen performing the single at the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final in Malmö on May 11, can it reach the Top 5 highs of last year’s champ Tattoo?

BTS star RM, born Kim Nam-joon, delivers Come back to me; a pre-release single from his upcoming second solo full-length release Right Place, Wrong Person. As a member of South Korean phenomenon BTS, RM boasts nine UK Top 40 singles to date. Could he secure another as a soloist next week?

Fresh from the success of his chart-topping 2023 album Sick Boi, independent singer, songwriter, rapper and instumentalist Ren returns with Troubles. The emotive track details the 'physical and mental pain' Ren has battled throughout his life, suffering from Lyme disease and ME (Myalgic encephalomyelitis).

Following the announcement of her upcoming fourth solo studio album C,XOXO, Camila Cabello recruits Lil Nas X for her latest cut HE KNOWS. The release follows experimental Playboi Carti collaboration I LUV IT, which saw Camila step into the hyperpop genre.

Glaswegian four-piece Travis release Raze The Bar. The latest single lifted from the group’s upcoming tenth studio album L.A. Times, out July 12, comes ahead of their UK and Ireland arena tour with The Killers this summer.

Something sound familiar? That'll be Coldplay's Chris Martin and The Killers' Brandon Flowers providing Raze The Bar's backing vocals. It's yet another reason for Brandon to celebrate this week, as The Killers' Mr. Brightside is named the UK's Official biggest song ever not to have hit Number 1.

With her upcoming LP BRAT released on June 7, Charli XCX unleashes its next single 360. The track follows previous releases Von dutch, Club classics and B2b.

Having recently secured his first Official Singles Chart entry with Solo, rising Luton singer-songwriter Myles Smith returns with Stargazing; the latest example of his genre-bending blend of folk, pop and Americana influences.

With The Girls Aloud Show tour kicking off next week, Girls Aloud continue their retrospective chronological EP releases; this time with Call The Shots. A critically-acclaimed melancholic moment lifted from the group's Tangled Up album, the song peaked at Number 3 on its release in 2007.

Elsewhere, Ella Eyre delivers brand-new single Ain’t No Love That Blind, while North London five-piece KAWALA drop their third release of 2024, Time Slipping Away.

Now, let’s talk albums.

Tennessee-formed rockers Kings Of Leon are back with Can We Please Have Fun this week. Preceded by the singles Nothing To Do, Mustang and Split Screen, the band will be hoping to earn a seventh Number 1 studio album in the UK with the record, having last topped the Official Albums Chart with 2021’s When You See Yourself

Gabrielle is ready to serve up her eighth studio album A Place In Your Heart, as Canadian singer-songwriter Alexander Stewart delivers his debut LP bleeding heart.

And finally, celebrating 20 years of their chart-topping debut, Keane reissue their 2004 record Hopes And Fears across brand-new formats including B-sides, rarities and previously-unreleased demos.
